Run Away

Everyone is running from something, whether we are aware of it or not. But what distance must we travel before we muster up the courage to pause, catch that much-needed breath, and look at what we are running from? This song celebrates the moment when it is time to turn around and face the music.

For the song Run Away, we set out to capture a more electronic sound. One of the unique aspects of the track is the inclusion of acoustic instruments that create a contrasting texture to the (otherwise) synthetic nature of the other instruments. One such instrument that can be heard in the song is the flute, which we recorded with the help of our friend Irma. Contributions like these bring a special, organic touch to the song, elevating it in a way we hadn’t imagined.

The track features satisfying synthesizer sounds that evoke a distinct 90s feeling. The beat has a playful and bold character, thanks to the fact that it is mostly recorded using the rhythm sections found on children’s keyboards, giving it a sense of nostalgia.
